Tawney, who has now had a name change to Chick, (it fits her so well!) is the newest addition. I dont know as much about her history as Nicks but I feel she has had a much easier life than he. She was already leash broken, loves to ride in the Jeep and made herself at home on my couch the first day!  Thank goodness it is leather.....LOL!
Nick was the first animal I ever adopted from the Humane Society. He is a very sweet and well mannered guy that had been very abused. So much that he has a very strong fear of humans and it took a year for him to allowed me to pet him.
I also discovered he has epilipsy.
I want to encourage each of you to adopt you next pet at your local shelter. Have the pets you have spayed or neutered and volunteer a few hours if you can to care for the animals there that have been abused or mistreated. Love is what they crave most!
Many shelters do not put the animals they have to sleep, but actually keep them till a good home is found. Nick and Chick had both been at our local shelter for around a year. And remember many are affiliated with wildlife rescue and rehab as well!
